Online photo exhibition of Erfan Dadkhah in Cadre Gallery
The solo’ photo exhibition by “Erfan Dadkhah” titled “Yellow Area” will be held online on the Cadregallerywebsite from Aug 8, 2024.
In the statement of this exhibition, which is written by the photographer:
The first industrial city in Iran, called Alborz, was established in a 900-hectare area in Qazvin in 1960s (1340s), in tandem with the development of modernity in Iran and in order to decentralize the manufacturing industries and move them out of Tehran; this city was divided into three industrial, commercial, and residential zones.
The process of urbanization, where a torrent of people started to live in cities for a better life, gave rise to one of the most populous cities in Qazvin Province; a process which brought the inhabitants of this city together for work, and not because of a shared culture.
Economic problems of 2000s (1380s) and first half of 2010s (1390s) in Iran posed a number of challenges to this city such as gradual worker layoff, industrial unit shutdown, income cut and delay, and inflation of the living costs in the city. All these have wreaked havoc on the city.
I stepped into this group as I was one of those who migrated to the city during urbanization. Those hopeful people whose sole legacy is to live in a city which remains warm thanks to the past memories. I have observed the city for such a long time; I have observed its inhabitants, its streets which end in towering prefab metal warehouses, its buses which feel sorry for the workers who are submerged in neglect.
Owing to the mentioned problems, Alborz Industrial City is fairly likely to undergo the use change.
1-Yellow designates the industry.
